CCW Kids Midweek Recap

CCW Kids Midweek Recap!

Simple Truth: I Am Known
Theme Verse: “God is greater than our hearts, and he knows all things.” (1 John 3:20b)
Theme: Real Talk

Session 3: God Knows My Real Feelings
Bible Story: Mary and Martha (Luke 10:38-42)

CCW Kids Families,

Our Real Talk Bible story this week was the story of Mary and Martha from Luke 10:38-42. Jesus and His followers, the disciples, went to visit the two sisters. Martha was distracted with her preparations and frustrated that her sister Mary was sitting at the feet of Jesus. Jesus showed that He knew what both sisters were really feeling, and He knew what they both really needed. When we feel like no one understands us, we can remember that God knows our real feelings and He knows what we need—Jesus!

With your kids, make a chart of what each person in your family does in a typical day, hour by hour. Invite your kids to draw faces next to each activity, displaying how those activities make them feel. Hang up the chart as a reminder that God knows how all of you really feel during every minute of every day. Also, use the chart as a reminder to be kind and encouraging to one another in the sad and mad moments.

Check out Hyfi At Home for fun family engagement around last week’s Bible story.

Highlight of the Week

Session 3: God Knows My Real Feelings
Read: Luke 10:38-42
Highlight: Luke 10:41-42
Reflect: What feelings can you let go of and trade for what Jesus offers?
  1. Anger for peace
  2. Worry for security
  3. Unrest for comfort

Pray: God, You know all my feelings—the good and the not-so-good. Help me remember that You always know what I’m feeling. Help me to know that You know and offer me everything I need.
Connect: What feelings can distract you from drawing close to God? What true things do you know about God that can help with those feelings?
