CCW Kids Midweek Recap
CCW Kids Midweek Recap!
Simple Truth: I Am Forgiven
Theme Verse: “I will forgive their wrongdoing.” (Hebrews 8:12a)
Theme: Switch It Up
Session 4: I Can Forgive Others
Bible Story: Jesus Taught about Forgiveness (Matthew 18:21-35)
CCW Kids Families,
Our Switch It Up Bible story this week comes from Matthew 18:21-35. Jesus told a story which teaches that we can forgive others. In this story, there was a servant who owed a king an enormous debt. When the servant begged for more time to pay back the debt, the king instead forgave it completely! Then, that servant found a fellow servant who owed him a much smaller amount of money. When the second servant begged for more time, the first servant refused and had the man thrown in prison. Jesus told this story to remind people to forgive one another. When we’ve been forgiven much, it can motivate us to forgive as well. God forgives everything through Jesus so we, too, can forgive others.
Give each of your kids three pennies and keep three for yourselves. Compete in an epic “Rock, Paper, Scissors” battle where the winner gets a penny from the loser. Once one person has all the pennies, ask for the money to be returned. Explain that when we have a lot of something, it can feel easier to share it. When we remember how much God has forgiven us, that can make it easier to share that love by forgiving others.

Session 4: I Can Forgive Others
Read: Matthew 18:21-35
Highlight: Matthew 18:21-22
Reflect: What can encourage you to forgive others?
Pray: God, You have forgiven me so much more than I deserve. Help me to remember Your incredible love and forgiveness. May the way You’ve treated me encourage me to love and forgive others.
Connect: Is it more difficult for you to forgive someone who has hurt you or hurt a person close to you? How can remembering God’s love and forgiveness help us when we don’t feel like forgiving others?
