Pastor Danny Lovett's Weekly Blog - 10/11/2018

The little book of Jonah has a great story.  It opens with the prophet running away from both his home, his country and the call God had given him. No doubt Jonah gave some thought to the consequences of his actions; even so, he made a terrible choice. Jonah is about to cause and endure indescribable suffering.  In a scene of high drama and suspense, Jonah is seen fleeing as far away as he can, seeking to break all ties with his former life. He was seeking to run away from God.  This Sunday the title of the message is "Knowing God, the Revealer".  God will always reveal to us what He wants us to do. When we try to run away from the call of God, there will be consequences.

We've got some great opportunities for you to be a part of community outreach during the days of fall.  The Fall Food Drive to stock the food pantry, Trunk or Treat, October 31, to share Jesus with the community children and families through candy and games, andFriend Day, November 4, a special day to bring a friend!  Get involved in meaningful, fulfilling service for the Lord.

For our fellowship meal after church, we'll have beef stroganoff with roasted potatoes and green beans.  Please bring your favorite dish to share with our guests and the CCWfamily.  What you bring adds such variety to our meal.  Thank you for pitching in and helping with the set up of the tables and chairs, the serving of the food or the clean up. Many hands make light work!

Join us as we continue the Experiencing God Bible study at 8:45, Sunday morning.   I can't wait to see you!

Jesus is Awesome!

Love,
Pastor Danny Lovett
