CCW Kids Weekly Update Copy

Week 3: What We're Learning!
Hey parents! Take a look at what we're learning this weekend!

Important Reminders:
  • We will begin one of our 2026 monthly mission focuses in February! All month long, kids are invited to Share The Love (of Jesus!) By creating cards to encourage and love on some residents in our local assisted living/nursing homes. They can include drawings, scripture, or reminding the recipients that Jesus loves them and we are praying for them! There will be an area in the Kids' lobby for drop off. Please encourage your kids to participate! "Dear children, let's not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions." ♥️ 1 John 3:18
  • For Midweek services, please ensure that if your children are joining us for dinner, you accompany your children to dinner in the gym and send them to service AFTER eating, at 6:30 PM. Thank you for helping our midweek volunteers in this way!

The Transfiguration (Mark 9:2–13; Luke 9:28–36)
Brite Idea: Jesus reveals God’s glory.
Monthly Big Question (Preschool): Who has power over all things? Jesus does!

Jesus took James, John and Peter up on a mountain. While Jesus was praying, the appearance of His face was altered and His clothing began to shine. Moses and Elijah appeared and spoke with Jesus about what was to come. The disciples were sleeping but awoke when they saw Jesus in His glory. Peter offered to make tents for each of them. The voice of God came down and declared Jesus was His Son.

The disciples got just a peek of Jesus’ glory—His magnificence. Jesus died on the cross, rose again and is now in heaven where Hebrews 9:2 tells us He is crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone. One day, everyone who has trusted in Jesus as Savior will see the glory of God face-to-face and live with Him for eternity.

Monthly Memory Verse: So that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow...and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:10–11)
