Week 3: What We're Learning!
Hey parents! Take a look at what we're learning this weekend!
Announcements:
- THIS SUNDAY is CCW Kids' dessert auction fundraiser! Please come help us raise funds for Kids camp!!!
- Summer camp registrations are open including VBS and Kids Camp!
- May 31st will be a FAMILY Sunday for K-5th grade! (Sunday school will still be held).
Peter’s Rescue (Acts 12:3–19)
Brite Idea: God is powerful.
Monthly Big Question (Preschool): Is God in control of everything? Yes!
King Herod was persecuting followers of Jesus. Peter was arrested. The night before his trial, Peter was woken up by an angel of the Lord. The angel told him to get up and the chains fell off of Peter’s hands. Peter followed the angel out of the prison. He went to the house where many believers were praying for him. They were amazed Peter was free and Peter shared how the Lord rescued him from prison.
Most of us have never been in jail, but we have all been trapped in our sin. We have all disobeyed God’s commands, and we are separated from Him because of it. We can’t ever get back to God on our own, no matter how hard we try. But Jesus came and made a way for us to be forgiven of our sins and set free. This was God’s powerful plan from the beginning.
Monthly Memory Verse: Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is Yours. (1 Chronicles 29:11a)
