Pastor Danny Lovett\'s Weekly Blog 3/18.2020

Dear Church Family,

President Trump has been addressing the nation daily with current information, advice, and pleas to the American people regarding the Coronavirus and how to prevent the spread of this potentially deadly virus.  Governor Ivey has also asked the people of Alabama to do everything they can to protect the most vulnerable of our people by voluntarily restricting our activities for the next two weeks.  Out of respect and in cooperation with the latest national and state guidelines, CCW will curtail gathering in large groups.
  • Wednesday evening activities are suspended until April 8.
  • Sunday morning services will be streamed live on Facebook only for the last two Sundays in March.
As your pastor and someone who loves each one of you very much, I have come to see this as an act of kindness, love and service to the those in our community and circles of contact.  You know that I, along with our pastoral staff and council, don't make this decision lightly, but after much prayer and seeking wisdom, we don't want to have any part in spreading the virus to someone who might not be strong enough to withstand it.

We will continue preaching the Word and worshiping our Lord Jesus!
  • To watch the services online, connect shortly before 10 am Sunday mornings to the CCW Facebook page:   https://www.facebook.com/TheChurchAtCW/      OR use the CCW app on your smart phone.
  • To give, connect to the website's giving page:  http://thechurchatcw.com/give
  • If you need help or prayer, call us, we are still just a phone call away.
While you are spending much more time at home, may I suggest some ways for you to invest your time?
Spend time with your family in the Word and in prayer.  Family devotions are difficult to maintain in our constant busyness.  This may be the time to establish or restore a habit that will change the trajectory of your family forever.  Read a chapter of John together, read a chapter of Proverbs a day, ask the children to act out a Bible story and talk about how they can apply the teachings of Jesus to their behavior and words.
Play some games together.  Laugh and talk and get re-acquainted with the wonderful people in your house!
Work together on a project around the house you've been putting off.  Take a nature hike, ride your bicycles, play in the yard!  Be active outdoors.    When the world gives you lemons, make lemonade!

Isaiah 41:10, "Fear not, for I am with you;  Be not dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you.  Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand."  Isaiah 40:31 says that "They that wait upon the Lord, shall renew their strength.  They shall mount up with wings of eagles, they shall run and not grow weary, they shall walk and not faint."   As we wait in confidence and peace, let God teach you about rest and sabbath.  Use this time wisely for eternity.

Jesus is Awesome!

I Love you!
Pastor Danny Lovett
