Pastor Danny Lovett's Weekly Blog 12/18/2020
Dear Church Family,
The Bible is filled with many wise people and their examples of wisdom. The Bible says, ”seek wisdom as silver and search for her as hidden treasure" (Proverbs 2:6). This Sunday we will be looking at the wise men who sought the new born King.
We still see wise people in our midst today. At Christmas, I see church signs that read, ”wise men still seek Him”. I suppose that is a sentiment which contains a kernel of truth. When we respond to His seeking of us, that makes us wise. That is what the Magi of the Bible did. The Lord gave them a light and they followed it until they came face to face with the Lord Jesus Christ. When they met Him, their lives were forever changed.
Just as the wise men brought gifts to honor the new King, so we will be sharing in a special time of giving for Christmas. The manger at the altar reminds us that we are joining the wise men as we give to the Lord. Susan and I always find this time of giving to be a very special time of worship that focuses our attention on the true meaning of Christmas. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16). Pray now that the Lord would lay on your heart what he would have you to give. Don’t miss this sweet service right before Christmas. As always, we are practicing social distancing in a super clean, and sanitized building. Sunday School is available for adults and children. Find your place at 8:45! The elementary age children are in Children's Church and the nursery is open. Many of the online ministry opportunities will continue to be available to you. Check the church website for links. It's awesome!
For your convenience, here are the instructions for joining us LIVE online. Join us.
