The Shoes of the Gospel

May 20, 2018    Dr. Danny Lovett

In Paul’s day, Roman solders wore hobnailed sandals. Think of modern golf, football, baseball, or soccer shoes that have cleats on the bottom for traction. These sandals allowed the soldier to be sure-footed in battle. So Paul used that image of the sure footed Roman soldier as a picture of the Christian who is properly shod in preparation for spiritual warfare. This Sunday we will look at the shoes that a Christian wears when he's prepared to do battle.
