Week 1: What We're Learning!

Hey parents! We are moving into a new series: BIGinning as we are learning about God being our Creator.

Announcements: 
- MOVE UP Sunday will be the first Sunday in August!
- AUGUST has 5 Sundays, meaning the last is usually a family Sunday (no chapel service). This month, we will have our family service on the 16th to celebrate Anniversary Sunday with the grown ups! 

Creation (Genesis 1)
Brite Idea: God is the Creator of everything.
(Preschool) Monthly Big Question: Who made & rules over everything? God!

In the very beginning, only God existed. The world was empty and formless. God created everything just by speaking. He made light and dark, water and sky, land, seas and plants, the sun and the moon, fish, birds and land animals. Finally, God made people in His image. God looked at all of creation and called it good. He rested on the seventh day. God made the whole world and everything in it, and He rules over it today.

Colossians 1:16–17 says, For by Him [Jesus] all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. We serve one God who is three in one—God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We call this the Trinity and all three were involved with creation. Not only did Jesus create the world, but it was created for Him and He holds it all together. Every molecule sticks together because of Him. The earth rotates just like it is supposed to because of Him. He rules over all creation, yet He knows and loves each one of us. He is our Creator.

Monthly Memory Verse: By Him all things were created, in heaven and on earth…all things were created through Him and for Him. (Colossians 1:16)
