Jesus’ Return is Promised (Acts 1:1–11)
Brite Idea: Jesus will return one day.
Preschool Big Question (Monthly): How did Jesus save us? He died and rose again!
After Jesus died on the cross, He appeared to His disciples many times. He stayed with them for forty days, teaching about God's Kingdom. Jesus told them to wait in Jerusalem for the Holy Spirit. Then He ascended into heaven. Two men in white told the disciples Jesus would return one day in the same way that He left. The disciples prayed together in Jerusalem, awaiting the Spirit’s arrival.
Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead. However, that was not the end of the story! He calls all of us to follow Him and tell the whole world the good news of the gospel. And one day Jesus will return and establish a new heaven and new earth. He will make all things new!
Monthly Memory Verse: For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)
