Reformation Day
October 31 is most widely recognized as Halloween, but did you know that October 31 is also one of the most significant anniversaries in history? On October 31, 1517 a German friar named Martin Luther nailed 95 theses, or grievances, against the Roman Catholic Church to the doors of the Church in Wittenberg. Luther's bold stand for the truth marked the beginning of the Protestant Reformation!
The Protestant Reformation was founded on five basic principles, called the Five Solas, that we still believe as a church today!
Christianity is not a "plus" religion because of the completed and sufficient work of Jesus Christ. Whether you participate in trick-or-treating or not this Halloween, Reformation Day is an occasion worthy of your family's recognition!

- Sola Gracia: we are saved by grace alone... (not by grace plus merit)
- Sola Fide: ...through faith alone... (not through faith plus works)
- Solus Christus: ...in Christ alone... (not in Christ plus Mary and other Saints)
- Soli Deo Gloria: ...to the glory of God alone... (not to the glory of God plus Mary and other Saints)
- Sola Scriptura: ...according to Scripture alone! (not according to Scripture plus tradition)
Christianity is not a "plus" religion because of the completed and sufficient work of Jesus Christ. Whether you participate in trick-or-treating or not this Halloween, Reformation Day is an occasion worthy of your family's recognition!
