Dear Church Family,

This Sunday, our practical series continues with Everyday Christianity:  How to Live out Your Faith in Your Home.  We, as parents, help determine how high our children will rise. That is why we must, first of all, create the right climate in our home. The words you speak, the order you establish, the music and television programs you allow, and the time spent on social media we allow are molding our children’s character and future. If we are too busy to notice these things we are too busy. Secondly, we need to give them the right mentors. Ruth followed Naomi. Timothy followed Paul. Our children are going to follow someone. The question is, who? Our best defense against destructive influences is offensive teaching, and a Christ-like example. Read God’s Word to them each day. Pray over them and with them. Do it! Don't be shy. Satan won't be shy with his tricks.

Now a word about all the concern about the Coronavirus media frenzy.  According to all the best medical minds, the risk to the average American is extremely low.  All of us should take the same precautions with this as we do with all infectious disease, like the flu.  We should wash our hands frequently, avoid touching our faces, stay home if we feel sick, and avoid other people who are sick.  The elderly with underlying health issues are the most at risk.  Beside these common sense precautions, we need to remember what the Lord has to say.  2 Timothy 1:7 says that "The Lord has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind."   Take comfort in the promise of God's protection for his people in Psalm 91.  "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.  I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.'  Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence.  He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.  You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.  A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand but it will not come near you...if you make the Most High your dwelling, even the Lord, who is my refuge, then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent."   CCW is not canceling services, but we will love each other with our words rather than our hugs.  As always, our service is streamed lived through Facebook for those who are sick and unable to attend.  Please pray for our leaders and our nation that people would turn to the Lord.

For our Fellowship Meal, we're serving Cheesy Chicken and Rice, Twice Baked Cauliflower, Corn Casserole, Brussel Sprouts, Green Peas, Macaroni & Cheese, and Tossed Green Salad.  Bring your favorite side dishes to share Sunday. This is a great time to introduce yourself to someone and invite them to sit with you so you can chat over lunch.  Thank you for pitching in and helping with the set up of the tables and chairs, the serving of the food and the clean up. Many hands make light work!

Join CCW early every Sunday morning for Bible study at 8:45 am.
I can't wait to see you Sunday!
Jesus is Awesome!

Love,
Pastor Danny Lovett
