Pastor Danny Lovett's Weekly Blog - 11/01/2018

Thank you!  Thank you!  Thank you! May the Lord repay everyone of you who worked so faithfully preparing and serving last night at Trunk or Treat!  Only in eternity will we fully know the impact  of your labor of love.

As we continue our community outreach weekend, Sunday is Friend Day!  Invite your neighbors, your co-workers, your school friends, your teammates, the check-out lady, your boss, your relatives, just everyone!  Remember to invite them to stay and eat lunch with you.  This also might be the Sunday, you'll want to check out a Sunday morning Bible study at 8:45 am, especially since Daylight Savings time ends Saturday night, everyone should be well rested!.  The Stephen's Trio will be providing special music and you know what a treat they are!

Even though, we're God’s children,  we still have problems. Second Timothy 2:3 says for us to "endure hardness as good soldiers of Jesus Christ."  If you lose your job, if you lose your health, if the forces of evil seem to be attacking you, if the economy is not working in your favor, and you're not happy with the election results, or if your friends turn away and everything is going wrong, you may want to just be disappointed in God.  You may want to resent the Lord.  I may have doubts and questions about what God's doing.  I may not like how he's running the world, but... I must continue to do one thing.  I must continue to rejoice in the Lord.  He is our strength, He is our rock, He is our salvation (Psalm.27:1).  This Sunday, the title of the message is Knowing the God of Comfort. We will take a look at how we can have comfort in uncomfortable times.

For our fellowship meal after church, we'll be serving delicious chicken casserole.  You are always encouraged to bring a dish to share with our family and guests, but for Friend Day, your extra effort is greatly appreciated!  You're the Love in the Love Feast, so bring a dish to share and find a visitor to sit with and get to know them.  Thank you for pitching in and helping with the set up of the tables and chairs, the serving of the food or the clean up. Many hands make light work!

I can't wait to see you Sunday morning!

Jesus is Awesome!

Love,
Pastor Danny Lovett
