Week 1 – What We're Learning

This week we will study Israel’s first king, Saul (1 Samuel 8; 13; 15). Though chosen to lead, Saul disobeyed God, feared his enemies, and acted as if he were the ultimate authority. Because of this, God ended Saul’s reign. The Israelites wanted a human king, but even their king chose his way over God’s. We often do the same—letting sin or other things rule us. But God alone is the true King. Through Jesus’ death and resurrection, He offers forgiveness and reigns forever.

Memory Verse: Psalm 24:10 – “The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory!”
