The Role of Children and Parents
Paul writes to the Church in Ephesians 6: "Children obey" and "honor" your parents, followed by "fathers, do not exasperate your children, but bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord." Parents need children and children need parents. It is God's plan and purpose to continue the gospel through the examples of the family. In the day and age we live in, it is paramount that parents lead the way in discipline, discipling, and devotion to their children. Children are not to be peer-raised, teacher-raised, or electronic-raised; they are to be parented. Proverbs 22:6 says, "Train up a child in the way He should go and when he is old he will not depart from it." What is the reciprocation of such Godly dedication? Children who obey, honor, and delight in their heritage leaving a legacy of the family name and the God they serve!
