Dear Church Family,
This Sunday will be an historical day at CCW! We are having a DRIVE-IN service in the front parking lot! You don’t want to miss this First for CCW! Gather the family in your car. Bring your Bibles and devices. We'll stay separated but together to worship Jesus, our resurrected Lord and Savior. Instead of "Amen!", you can give a "Beep, beep!" to declare your agreement. I'll be preaching live outside, weather permitting. If it rains, (pray it doesn't), you can watch on your devices as I pray with each family at your car, with my umbrella if necessary. Can't wait to SEE YOU!
The message will be from Mark 4:35-41, The Miracle In The Storm. Jesus had been teaching his disciples the Word and now He would give them a practical test to see how much they had really learned. After all the hearing of God’s Word is intended to produce faith (Romans 10:17); and faith must always be tested. It is not enough for us merely to learn a lesson or be able to repeat a teaching. We must also be able to practice that lesson by faith, and that is one reason why God permits trials to come into our lives. America is experiencing a storm right now. Jesus' disciples were experiencing a storm, literally, in a boat with Jesus. This Sunday we will see how we can sail through this storm we are in as well as any storm that comes our way.
For Holy Week, as you remember all that Jesus did to purchase your redemption, reflect on the resurrection passages: Matthew 27-29, Mark 14-16, Luke 22-24, John 18-21, and I Corinthians 15. You might want to read a different passage each day with your family. Many online opportunities are available to you for encouragment in the Word. Check the church website for links. Rick Wright, David and Amanda Roper, Barry Key, and my wife, Susan have been teaching LIVE on Facebook. This might be a good time to see what you've been missing in one of our Bible Study classes! Also be looking for my Good Friday message tomorrow, The Road To Joy.
